Black Sea Economic Cooperation

The Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation is a regional international organization focusing on multilateral political and economic initiatives aimed at fostering cooperation, peace, stability and prosperity in the Black Sea region.

Member States include Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Moldova, Romania, Russian Federation, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine

Concept

The symbol for the Bulgarian Chairmanship-in-Office of the Organisation for Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) is all about the waves - those on a waving flag in the wind and those on the surface of the sea, as well as the fluctuating nature of international trade markets.

The brief prepared by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated pretty clearly that the symbol should clearly emphasize the fact that it's Bulgaria's turn to take the wheel of BSEC in 2019. Logically, the combination of a tricolour, a reference to the flag of Bulgaria, which also doubles as a sea wave, stood out as a clear and concise visual representation of the coming Bulgarian chairmanship.
